Study of the Angiographic Profile of Acute Coronary Syndrome in Smokers Compared With Non Smokers
نویسنده
چکیده
Background: To study the angiographic profile of ACUTE CORONARY SYNDROME in smokers versus non smokers and to analyse with respect to baseline characteristics, Method: Patients with first episode of ACS (Unstable Angina with ECG changes, NSTEMI,STEMI) 2. Different types of ACS were diagnosed according to ECG criteria and Troponin T positivity . Smoking history in the form of -tobacco chewing / khaini / beedi / tambaku / cigars was included. Results: Acute myocardial infarction STEMI+NSTEMI) was the most common presentation in both smokers and non smokers But Acute STEMI ,as the initial presentation, was often encountered in smokers .Unstable angina was often encountered as initial presentation in Non smokers s. Single vessel disease was the most common CAG diagnosis in both groups. Triple vessel disease was equally encountered in both Conclusions: Acute coronary syndrome occurred seven years earlier in smokers 2.Smokers presented with more Acute infarctions and less Unstable angina 3.Single vessel disease was the most common CAG diagnosis in both smokers and non smokers.

The Acute Effect of Cigarette Smoking on QT Dispersion
Background: Cigarette smoking has several known detrimental effect on cardiovascular system. QT dispersion (QTd) is among the important predictors of cardiac death. Objective: To assess the acute effect of smoking of a single standard cigarette on QT and QTc (corrected QT) dispersion, hence on the risk of ventricular arrhythmias in healthy smokers and non-smokers. Methods: 111 healthy men wit...
متن کاملFactor Analysis of Metabolic Syndrome among Iranian Male Smokers
Background: Recent studies show cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors have the tendency to intermingle. Integration between some biological and homodynamic risk factors have made the new hypothesis for etiology of CVDs. The aim of this study was to determine the clustering pattern of metabolic variables and left ventricular (LV) mass among smoker and non-smoker individuals and the interrela...
متن کاملCorrelation between metabolic syndrome factors and cigarette smoking
Introduction: Cigarette smoking is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Previous studies demonstrate the adverse effects of smoking on serum lipid profile but there is no evidence that smoking is correlated with metabolic syndrome components such as lipid profile and obesity. The purpose of this study is evaluating lifestyle factors like smoking on metabolic syndrome compo...

Background: The smokers who use supportive programs have a greater chance to quit smoking. Smoking cessation recommendation is one of the most important prevention and treatment methods mentioned in care guidelines provided for patients with acute coronary syndrome. Aim: The main objective of this study is to determine the effects of training-counseling programs on smoking cessation in patients...
